At 710 Ashbury Street, you’ll find the Grateful Dead House — a purple Victorian where Jerry Garcia and his bandmates resided and hosted parties during the Summer of Love. Our founder, Terrance Alan, has personally taken part in crucial moments in history, from work with the LGBTQ+ community to his work as a legacy cannabis advocate and dispensary owner. In the 1980s, Terrance was living in San Francisco and devoting much of his time to helping the gay community, including those suffering from AIDS. In providing compassionate cannabis, sick patients were able to improve debilitating symptoms associated with the disease. San Francisco is foundational to eras that catapulted cannabis into the national spotlight and paved the way for movements that led us to where we are today.

Do I need to be a certain age to consume cannabis in Haight-Ashbury?
Only adults of legal age are allowed to enter a store that sells recreational cannabis in California. This means that you must be able to prove that you’re 21 years old or older or 18 with valid medical documentation, so please bring your ID card or driver’s license. Without a valid ID, you won’t be allowed to enter our cannabis stores or buy cannabis products. Being 21 doesn’t mean that you can smoke weed anywhere in the county.
